A chance purchase led Rhonda Ethell to INB. Or, we should say, back to INB.

She bought something on Facebook marketplace from an INB staff member, and when they met up for the transaction and started chatting, an intriguing opportunity came up in conversation.

“She told me there was an open trust officer position,” Rhonda shares. “It ended up that I already knew 4 out of INB’s 5 trust team members because I started my banking career at the original INB (Illinois National Bank) as a trust operations clerk.”

Now, we are delighted to welcome Rhonda as the new Trust Officer in INB’s Wealth office, located in Springfield’s Montvale complex.

“It’s nice to come back to work for a company that puts people first,” she says.

Rhonda grew up in Athens, Ill., where she still resides today. She is an accomplished trust officer within the banking industry, having spent several years servicing trust operations for private clients and institutional trust and custody groups. She’s developed expertise at managing numerous high net worth accounts and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Rhonda has also spent the last five years as a securities examiner for the State of Illinois, a role that further honed her understanding of financial oversight and customer care.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Rhonda takes great joy in her family. As the mother of two sons, her favorite way to spend free time is with her grandson and granddaughter.

Rhonda has also nurtured a creative hobby into a flourishing side business: floral crafts.

“I participate in a few craft vendor sales and currently supply The Country Road Relics with floral crafts,” she says. “My son and I just recently finished a ‘she shed’ for my floral business, and I can’t wait to get all my supplies moved in and organized.”

Rhonda’s commitment to her hometown is as vibrant as her floral creations. She currently serves as City Clerk for the City of Athens and as president of the Friends of the Athens Library.

Her personal values of community certainly align with INB’s, and she’s eager to bring her passion to the bank’s Wealth clients.

“I’m looking forward to working with a great team and being able to help customers,” Rhonda shares.
