INB is helping bring holiday magic to Downtown Springfield by sponsoring the annual Old Capitol Holiday Walks for the seventh season.

The festive activities run thru Dec. 21, on Wednesdays from 4-8 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

“The Holiday Walks are a cornerstone of our community,” says DSI executive director Carlos Ortega. “Our downtown transforms into a vibrant hub of cultural experiences, artistic showcases, and unique, independent shops that reflect the heart of our city. This event celebrates the local charm and collective spirit, showcasing the unparalleled value our downtown offers.”

This year’s theme, Sharing Traditions, is designed to foster unity and celebrate the diverse heritage of our community, Carlos says.

Events at the Holiday Walks include Santa Claus at the Old State Capitol, Nutcracker performances at the Abraham Lincoln Museum, ice skating at the ALPLM Union Station Plaza, and much more.

Supporting Downtown Springfield

DSI is grateful for INB’s support to enhance the Holiday Walks each year, bringing arts, culture, and entertainment that resonate with all ages, Carlos says.

The bank’s investment in downtown Springfield over the years reflects a “shared belief in the cultural and economic significance of our downtown space,” he shares.

“INB’s support has been pivotal in reshaping and revitalizing our downtown. The bank’s contributions ensure that we can continue creating meaningful experiences for residents and visitors alike,” Carlos says.

“This is such a great chance to connect, support local businesses, and highlight what makes our community so special,” Carlos says.

Celebrating with Baby Fold in Bloomington

INB has also sponsored the Baby Fold Festival of Trees in Bloomington since 2017, which was held this year on November 21-23.

The event supports the Baby Fold, which serves 1200+ children and families across Central Illinois through 12 programs that provide services for academics, early childhood, post-adoption and more.

“It’s such a cool event. The community really comes together to donate quality items that get auctioned off to support a great cause,” says INB Bloomington Branch Manager Andi Whalen. “I especially love the gingerbread house section; they are all so creative and fun. Not only is it a great way to support the Baby Fold, but it’s also a great way to spend an afternoon!”
