Amanda Donley tries to go beyond a customer’s expectations when it comes to service, and she expects the same of her staff. Amanda wants every customer to leave INB’s Chatham Branch asking, “Where else could I get service like that?”

And thanks to her ideals lining up perfectly with INB’s core values, Amanda recently earned a promotion to Assistant Vice President/Branch Manager.

Amanda will continue to serve at our Chatham Branch.

Face-to-Face

Amanda took a position in Chatham at the end of 2020. While the pandemic kept her from attending a lot of community events since then, she’s thrilled restrictions are easing and that she’s getting to meet with people face-to-face. She plans to attend Chamber events, for example.

And these interactions are important to Amanda, who describes her day with the hashtag, #FUN. The fun begins with daily huddles with her staff.   She says, “I not only review banking information, I get to find out from them what they are struggling with or, if a process isn’t working, I can help them find a solution.”

At these meetings, Amanda also provides education by reviewing bank products and services. She wants to make sure her team can offer customers a great banking experience while they’re in the branch.  “I’ve been with INB for 15 years.  The knowledge and experience I’ve gained from my coworkers and managers, I pass along to the next generation of tellers and bankers,” she says.

In addition to discussing business issues, Amanda uses huddles to connect in other ways with her coworkers. “We are a close family at the branch, so we talk a lot about our families and what’s going on in our lives.”

Leadership in Action

When Amanda was named branch manager, she said she was looking forward to teaching and mentoring others.  Last year, Amanda was able to do both when she added a branch supervisor to her staff. “In June 2021 I hired Bri Weisenburn (previously working at our Pleasant Plains Branch) . . . and I’ve been able to teach her how to complete numerous monthly reports for the branch and coach her through the transition into a management position.”

And while she describes her work as #FUN, Amanda knows she needs her me time.  “I love to work out after work,” she says.  “My goal is to become more healthy and fit this year.”
