In Sangamon County, you won’t incur late fees for payments made on or before the second payment due date of Sept. 10, 2021. Payments made after Sept. 10 will be subject to late fees. INB will accept payments of any amount (regardless of what is stated on your tax coupon) through Nov. 5, 2021.
We Make Payments Easy
To make sure you’re in and out of the bank or drive-up as quickly as possible, do three things:
- Bring in your tax payment coupon. INB staff do not have access to county records.
- Write your check out ahead of time.
- Don’t wait until the last minute! The day payments are due has traditionally been a busy day even though our branch managers and other bank staff step in to help.
Never Write another Property Tax Check: Set up an Escrow Account
If you’re an INB mortgage customer, you can avoid writing this annual check or worrying about how to make your payment by setting up an escrow account. An escrow account is a free way for you to set aside the money for your property taxes, and then INB handles the payments with the county.
INB typically sets the escrow account up at the time of a mortgage closing, but we can open one at any time. All it takes is a phone call to get the process started.
Once the account is established, you don’t do anything but make your mortgage payments. We monitor the account, make payments your account is designed to cover, and send you an analysis each year. Call 1-877-771-2316 to set up your account.
