Once a year for the last five years, Zach Lammers has joined a small group of high school friends on a hiking excursion, typically to the Appalachians or the Rockies.
He also carves time out of his full professional schedule to be an active member of the Knights of Columbus and involved with the Alzheimer’s Association and Big Brother Big Sister. And that’s when he’s not spending quality time with his wife and daughter.
Relationships are important to Zach, who acknowledges that cultivating connections with his clients is one of the things he enjoys most about his career as a commercial lender.
That’s a major reason that Zach decided to join the commercial loan team of the INB St. Louis district as VP, commercial lending in November 2018.
“After my initial interview with INB, I knew it seemed like a clear fit and a great opportunity to help them move into the St. Louis market. What I enjoy about my role is the relationships that I develop with my clients and the ability INB has given me to help them,” he says.
Illinois Educated; Missouri Bound
Zach grew up in the small farming community of Breese, Ill, as the youngest of four children. He graduated from Breese Mater Dei High School and received his bachelor’s of science degree in business administration, specializing in finance and management, from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
Zach’s banking career began with Regions Bank in Glen Carbon, Ill., as a college senior. He started as a personal banker before becoming assistant branch manager. He then moved to PNC Bank in Maryland Heights, Mo., to become a branch manager and spent four years in retail until he was promoted to business banking with PNC.
“After a successful tenure there, I saw an opportunity to help a community Metro East bank move into St. Louis and help grow their commercial banking presence in St. Louis. After four years and growing their portfolio to $100MM, that bank sold, which is when I was introduced to INB,” he says.
Zach and his wife Jenn welcomed their daughter in 2017. He enjoys staying active through playing golf, softball and basketball, and he cheers for St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Fighting Illini basketball. During deer season, you can find him hunting on his plot of timber ground in Illinois.
Helping Businesses, INB Thrive
In his new role at INB, Zach is most looking forward to helping his clients accomplish their goals while also helping the bank thrive in our new St. Louis location.
“I look forward to bringing the right clients to the bank to help them and us succeed,” he says. “INB’s culture was clear to me from the start and has not wavered. It was evident from the first interview that the positive attitude and direction of the leadership group resonates throughout the company.
“Everyone understands the objectives and goals of the company and works together, supporting one another, to obtain them. They understand that you can hold high expectations while still having fun at work, which creates close and supportive relationships amongst employees.”
Please welcome Zach Lammers to INB.
