Hidden identitySometimes customers seem annoyed when we ask them for identification before cashing a check or handling certain transactions. It boils down to one thing:  your protection.  We want to make sure the money you’ve entrusted with us is used the way you want it used.

Our employees typically ask for a photo ID when they do not know a customer. This often happens when we have new employees or staff members who work at whatever branch needs help on a given day. These “floaters” don’t get the chance to know you like our regular staff, yet they help assure we have the right number of tellers ready to serve you when you stop by a branch to do your banking.

So, just like a local merchant needs your PIN when you use your debit card, we use your ID to verify your face, address and signature.  Your ID is one safety measure we use to protect your account.
