Teller supervisor Betsy Norvell uses just the right word when she describes the INB Pleasant Plains lobby this time of year:  Overwhelming!

“The joy of giving is overwhelming and brings holiday cheer to all who enter and see all the presents that will be given to those in need,” she says.

“Over the top” might be a good way to describe the people of Pleasant Plains. The community has once again met the needs of local low-income families this holiday season by filling all the wishes on the Angel Tree.

At INB, we partner with the Pleasant Plains Community Club to host the Angel Tree in our lobby each year. The tree goes up the day after Thanksgiving with hundreds of names. Customers and community members can select a name from the tree and come back with gifts for that child.

Those of us who work here have had the joy of coming into work each day and seeing the pile of gifts grow.  And each day we think, “Wow, here’s our community coming together again.”

“It puts you in the Christmas mood really quick!” Betsy says.

We’re lucky enough to have some of you stop and share your stories about shopping for the kids, and we see the joy on your faces.  We see you give not only to the Angel Tree, but the Food Pantry, too.  It’s times like these that we know we’re in the right place, doing the right thing as part of our community.
