holiday donation ornamentINB makes donations to community organizations throughout the year.  To make holiday giving extra special, we gave employees the opportunity to identify organizations to receive holiday donations. The names of the organizations were put on Christmas trees that now decorate the bank’s downtown lobby.  During the bank’s recent Ice Princess Celebration, one of the visiting princesses drew five organizations which each received a $100 check on behalf of the employees listed below:

  • Simmons Cancer Institute, submitted by Melinda Manci
  • Little Kids, Big Dreams Foundation, submitted by Rachelle Maurer
  • Friends of Sangamon County Animal Control, submitted by Melissa Guy
  • Christmas on Vinegar Hill, submitted by Gretchen Cromwell
  • Pleasant Plains Historical Society, submitted by Betsy Norvell

The wide range of organizations drawn shows the diversity of care and commitment among our employees. Employees are involved with so many good organizations that we don’t hear about every day.  For example, Little Kids, Big Dreams is helping a single family whose children both suffer from the same condition. Rachelle has held fundraisers for the family, and this extra $100 was a big boost. Then there’s Gretchen. Her involvement with Christmas on Vinegar Hill is as a participant. She tells me she kicks off her holiday shopping season with her mom in Mt. Pulaski at the annual event. Because they enjoy their time together so much, she wanted to support the community effort with a donation.

In addition to these donations on behalf of INB employees, a donation was made on behalf of one adult who brought a child to the INB Ice Princess Celebration. A $100 donation was made to Calvary Academy Daycare.
