December really got away from us! We overlooked recognizing the accomplishments of Elizabeth (Lizzie) Ford, daughter of Kelby and Angie Ford of Elkhart. Lizzie was named December Senior of the Month at Mount Pulaski High School (MPHS). She was selected for this honor based on the criteria of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

The Senior of the Month Program is sponsored by Johnson’s Food Center and Johnson True Value Hardware. All Seniors of the Month are eligible for the $500 Senior of the Year Award sponsored by INB.

During her time at MPHS, Lizzie has been very involved in sports and activities. For the past four years she has been a member of the Spirit Squad, Future Farmers of America (FFA) and soccer. She’s currently FFA Chapter President and was captain of the soccer team during the 2015 season. Lizzie has also been involved in both National Honor Society and student council, and she was a member of the basketball team. Lizzie was also chosen to be a Girls State Participant and an Illinois State Scholar.

Lizzie is a member of the Mt. Pulaski Christian Church, and she is the reigning Miss Logan County Fair Queen.

After high school, Lizzie plans to pursue a degree in Marketing.
