Jonathan Shoup is winding down his high school career as Riverton High School’s April Student of the Month. He is the son of John Shoup and Richelle Hamilton.

As a senior, Jonathan played both basketball and soccer for RHS. This year he was recognized as the Most Valuable Player in soccer. During his freshman and sophomore years, he also was part of the baseball team. Jonathon is a member of Hawk Pride and has earned the English 3 Award.

Jonathan plans to study nursing at Lincoln Land Community College.

The Riverton High School Student of the Month Award is sponsored by Illinois National Bank (INB). Jonathan was chosen for the award by the staff and faculty of RHS based on attendance, academics, effort, conduct, cooperation, dependability, leadership, school involvement, and service to others. He will receive $50 from INB and will be eligible for 2015-2016 Student of the Year honors at graduation.
