Mt. Pulaski High Recognizes Josh Dyer

Josh Dyer has been honored by Mt. Pulaski High School as Senior of the Month. He earned the award, in part, because of the many activities he takes part in. He is a member of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) and the Parliamentary Procedure Team. He takes part in Scholastic Bowl, Pep and Concert Band, Drama Club, National Honor Society, Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering (WYSE) organization, Spanish Club, and Science Olympiad.
Josh has earned many awards during his time at MPHS including the Illinois High School Association’s (IHSA) Scholastic Achievement Award. He earned a Silver Medal at nationals for FCCLA Parliamentary Procedure team, and he took home awards for his accomplishments in with WYSE: a gold medal at the state level and third place in Chemistry.
Along with his academic success, Josh found time to play basketball and soccer, while being an active member of the Mt. Pulaski Christian Church. He takes part in youth group and plays guitar, piano, and bass for the worship band.
Josh plans to attend Purdue University and study computer graphics and animation.
The December Senior of the Month is the son of Tracy and Amy Dyer of Mt. Pulaski. He was selected for this honor based on the criteria of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
The Senior of the Month Program is sponsored by Johnson True Value Hardware. Monthly winners receive a $50 award paid to the college they plan to attend. They are also in the running for the $500 Senior of the Year Award sponsored by Illinois National Bank.
