To be a member of a national honor society is a great accomplishment, but to be a member of two is really special. Scott Kasper, a Riverton High School senior, is members of both the National Honor Society (NHS) and the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS). He is also the school’s April student of the month.
The National Honor Society’s purpose is to create enthusiasm for scholarship; to stimulate a desire to render service; to promote leadership; and to develop character in the students of secondary schools. National Technical Honor Society is focused on students who have dreams of being in the technical education sector. Both programs award scholarships and drive students to be involved with school activities and community service.
Scott is also a member of Scholastic Bowl, Key Club, Debate, Math and the Worldwide Youth in Science & Engineering (WYSE) team. He also played football throughout high school.
Scott was chosen as April student of the month by the staff and faculty of RHS based on attendance, academics, effort, conduct, cooperation, dependability, leadership, school involvement, and service to others. He will receive $50 from INB and will be eligible for 2016-2017 Student of the Year honors at graduation. Scott plans to attend a four-year university and study engineering.
