Nathan Ford, Mt. Pulaski High School, seniorNathan Ford, son of Kelby and Angela Ford of Elkhart, was chosen as the October Senior-of-the-Month at Mount Pulaski High School. Faculty and staff selected him for this honor based on the criteria of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Nathan stays very active at MPHS by participating in Future Farmers of America (FFA), National Honor Society (NHS), Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), chess club and the soccer team. He is also a member of his church’s youth group.

Nathan’s involvement with the FFA chapters includes serving as the president. He has also won the organization’s agronomy contest in 2015 and land use contest in 2016. During the state competition, he received first place in agriscience.

Nathan is planning to attend college in the fall and study actuarial science.

The Senior-of-the-Month Program is sponsored by Johnson True Value Hardware and Larry Conaway Jr. Monthly winners receive a $100 award paid to the college the winner plans to attend. Monthly winners are also in the running for the $500 Senior-of-the-Year Award sponsored by Illinois National Bank.
