Brock Brummett is taking the necessary steps to achieve his dream of becoming a physician. First things first, this recently named Senior-of-the-Month wants to focus on his studies at Pleasant Plains High School.
So far, he’s met that goal, earning High Honor Roll each year. He also received a letter of commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Program, was a finalist at the Questbridge College Match, placed 4th at the state chemistry competition, placed 3rd overall during the Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering competition (WYSE) and, now, earns November Senior-of-the-Month honors. Faculty and staff selected him for this honor based on the criteria of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
Brock is active at PPHS. He is senior class president, Student Council vice president, Science Club vice president and active in Beta Club, National Honor Society, and the WYSE team. During his junior year, he served as the Junior Marshal at graduation.
When not studying, you can find Brock on the field. He is a member of the soccer team (4 years), track and field team (4 years), served as soccer team captain (2017) and track and field team captain (2016-2017 season). He was also named the Student Athlete of the Week, placed 4th in state in 4 x 800-meter relay, and won soccer regionals during 2016 and 2017 seasons.
The Senior-of-the-Month Program is sponsored by Illinois National Bank. Monthly winners receive a $50 award. They are also in the running for the $500 Senior-of-the-Year Award also sponsored by INB.
