Ellen Reinert is a senior at Pleasant Plains High School and decided early on that she wanted to study at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. While studying hard and participating in the Scholastic team and science club, she placed 3rd in math and chemistry and also placed 1st in chemistry at Blackburn Science Day. Teachers and staff chose her to be the February Senior-of-the-Month at the high school based on the criteria of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

Ellen loves playing the drums in the marching band and serves as drum major. She enjoyed being a part of the drama club and stage crew for plays and musicals. She served as the stage manager of the stage crew.

Ellen Reinert plans to major in biology at the U of I.
