Expansion plans were announced today by Richard K. McCord, president and CEO of Illinois National Bank (INB) in Springfield. Construction of two new branches will begin soon at 2849 South Sixth Street and 2450 North Dirksen Parkway, both in Springfield. The facilities are expected to be operational during the first quarter of next year. Harold O’Shea Builders is general contractor for the design build project at both locations.
Illinois National Bank is locally owned and managed by a group of 40 individual investors. INB currently operates two branches in Springfield. The main branch, which opened June 21, 1999, is located at 322 E. Capitol Avenue. A second Springfield location was opened at 2601 Chatham Road in December 1999. Illinois National Bank purchased the Remittance Services operation from National Processing Company in September 2000, saving 54 local jobs.
