Customers appreciate the ease and cost savings of using our on-line bill pay service. Many bill pay users get their statements and immediately schedule a payment so it’s received before the due date. This service works very well whether your payee accepts electronic payments or paper checks. But when it comes to payees who will receive a check from INB, you may need to allow more time for the check to get to its destination.
With recent changes at the United States Postal Service, it can now take longer for first class envelopes to make it to your payee. To make sure your check arrives on time, please allow at least seven days for payments that will be made with a check. While the post office says it will deliver in five days, our recommendation is that you err on the side of caution and allow seven.
When looking at your list of payees (“My Payees” tab inside of the “Move Money” category), you can see if the payment is “electronic” or “check.” For checks, schedule the payment a full week before it’s due. That will give us time to print your check and allow the post office to get it to its destination before the due date.
