Valerie began her banking career after high school. She worked part-time as a teller while going to school to become a medical assistant. She eventually switched gears to working full-time as a teller. She came to INB in March 2002. From there, she worked as a customer service representative, banker, assistant branch manager, and, eventually, was promoted to her current position. She says, “I have enjoyed growing and learning new things. We have great employees. We have an organization that is young, aggressive, creative, and goal oriented.”
Banking came naturally to Valerie. She enjoys her roots as a teller and still enjoys working the teller line from time to time. “I love working with our customers and getting to know them personally. I have built so many relationships with them,” she says. “We have great products and services that help our customers save money, time, and minimize financial pressures. I feel good about being here to help them.”
Part of being part of the INB family means being part of the community. Valerie graduated from Leadership Springfield in 2014, giving her a better understanding of the critical issues that impact our region and our diverse neighbors.
As for her own family, Valerie says: “I have literally grown up since I have started at INB. I am married to Tim Woodrum; we have two amazing daughters. Reese is 11 and participates in basketball, soccer, volleyball, swim, and acting; Teagan is 6 and takes part in basketball, soccer, and dance. We built our beautiful home in Athens. I enjoy spending time with my family, canning vegetables, gardening, exercising, and enjoying photography in my free time.”
