Kelley Himmelberg, PHR, SHRM-CP,

VP, Director of Human Resources

Midwest roots brought Kelley Himmelberg and her family to the Springfield area after spending the first part of her married life in Florida. The St. Louis native got started in banking shortly after the 1994 move.

Kelley started her Springfield career at First of America’s Remittance Processing Center on the Old State Capitol square, as the second shift data manager. She joined INB’s accounting department in September of 2000, when INB acquired the Remittance Center. It was a department of just two at that time, and Kelley worked closely with Deposit Operations.

When she took on a role as assistant controller, Kelley realized how much she enjoyed collaborating with others. She decided to join the Human Resources department in 2008, and she went back to college to earn a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Greenville College.

Today, Kelley is SVP, Director of Human Resources at INB – a position she describes as “versatile.” “I still get to wear my ‘accounting hat’ when I prepare budgets and payroll, yet I interact with others across the bank as I plan employee events,” she says. Working with many of her coworkers for more than 20 years has brought them close, and she’s been thrilled to see the bank’s growth over the years.

“Technology has greatly changed how we service our customers today, but our senior management team keeps an open mind about how to adapt to new challenges and how we approach the future of banking,” Kelley shares.

Kelley represents INB well through her community involvement, including serving on the Board of Directors for United Way. She also calls herself “a real estate junkie” – in her off time, she and her husband renovate homes and flip foreclosures. Most importantly, she enjoys spending time with her three grown children and three grandsons.
