Jamie Singer,

VP, Deposit Operations

NMLS # 662910

With banking as a lifelong career, Jamie says her greatest joy is making someone else’s life easier by helping them with their finances. She spent her first 17 years working with individual bank customers, then several more years working with business customers in the INB treasury department.

Today, Jamie helps bank operations run smoothly behind the scenes as VP, Deposit Operations for INB. She also oversees INB’s Treasury Support team and INB couriers as part of her role.

“Without the ‘back end’ of the bank running smoothly, it would severely impact our customers. Everything that happens to customer accounts on a daily basis funnels through our department,” she says. “It’s our daily goal to keep our online system and app up and running to make our employees’ and customers’ lives easier.”

When Jamie says she’s done it all in banking, she has. She started as a part-time teller when she was only 17, a senior at Lanphier High School. The proud Northender attended Lincoln Land Community College, but never gave up her banking job. When she moved to INB just three months after the bank opened in 1999, she was a teller and banker . . . as well as housekeeper and doorman. “We all wore so many hats in those days,” she remembers.

In addition to working with retail customers and managing retail staff, Jamie has become a valued INB employee for her ability to take on special projects. In 2009, she successfully took on and implemented the Home Affordable Modification Program for INB. When mortgage interest rates plummeted in 2011, it was all-hands-on-deck at INB, and Jamie learned how to underwrite home loans.

While she’s extremely enthusiastic about her job, Jamie’s even more excited to talk about her family. She’s been married to her high school sweetheart, Brandon, since 2004, and the couple has two kids. She loves all things sports and traveling with her family – favorite destinations include Las Vegas and Siesta Key – as well as baking and cooking. “I enjoy going through my mom’s recipe box and cookbooks to make her favorite dishes, so all the good food she used to make us can remain a part of our family,” Jamie says.

Since losing both of her parents within the same year, Jamie has adopted a new motto: “Don’t sweat the crumbs.”

“My mom was a clean freak and would sweat every crumb, piece of grass on the sidewalk, cup out of place, etc. Life is too short to sweat the small stuff – the crumbs!” she smiles. “I challenge more people to do the same, and to be kind.”

Jamie is always one of the first INB employees to volunteer. She’s passionate for the disabled community and young, and devotes her time to organizations centered around these groups. In recognition of her community involvement, Jamie was the recipient of Springfield Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Award in 2018.
