Rachel Selvaggio grew up in Springfield and graduated from Sacred Heart-Griffin High School before earning a Bachelor of Science in Applied Communication Studies with a focus in Public Relations from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE). After starting her career in event planning, Rachel made a pivot into banking, beginning in the call center at Town and Country Bank (now Heartland Bank and Trust). She later moved into the deposit operations department, where she served as the bank’s fraud specialist.

Her career progressed to the Illinois Bankers Association, where she served as director of business and education services. There, she partnered with banks across the state – including INB – to assess training needs, develop customized programs, and lead major initiatives such as the Future Leaders Alliance.

Today, Rachel is Assistant Vice President and Corporate Trainer at INB, where she helps shape a strong internal training culture across the organization.

Rachel is passionate about employee development and believes in the power of education to transform careers. She is currently pursuing her Six Sigma Black Belt certification and is focused on helping INB employees grow in their roles through tailored, meaningful training programs.

Rachel is also highly involved in her community. She serves as Chair of the Executive Committee for RISE Springfield, a nonprofit she helped launch to support young professionals through leadership development and service. Her dedication to the banking industry and local impact was recognized in 2024 when she was named to the Springfield Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 list.

Outside of work, Rachel and her husband, Stephen, stay busy raising their two young sons, Benjamin and Harrison.
