Tom Gihl,

EVP, Chief Revenue Officer (CRO)

Tom Gihl serves as INB’s EVP & Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), with a focus on commercial and government sales.  

With significant banking experience, Tom has played a pivotal role in shaping the bank’s growth and direction. The first decade of Tom’s banking career was spent at the original Illinois National Bank, gaining diverse experience in investment portfolio management, corporate trust, correspondent banking, and cash management.

As part of the founding team that established INB in 1999, Tom initially served as Chief Operating Officer, responsible for technology, security, and day-to-day oversight of government and corporate customers. In mid-2022, he transitioned to focusing primarily on sales as the bank’s CRO.

Tom holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. A strong advocate of lifelong learning, he completed the Stonier Graduate School of Banking through the American Bankers Association and earned certifications from the School of Funds Management and the School of Bank Investments. Tom is passionate about encouraging all INB employees to pursue continuing education and stay current on banking trends, technology, and security advancements.
