Mark Donovan credits his approach to problem-solving to his upbringing on the family farm in rural Gibson City, IL, where he and his two brothers learned the value of hard work and resourcefulness. After earning his bachelor’s degree in Finance from SIU Carbondale and an MBA from UIS, he joined INB in 2002, where he maintained his pragmatic approach in helping businesses, both small and large, find solutions to fund projects, purchases, acquisitions, and other asset-related transactions. 

For 15 years, Mark built his expertise in INB’s commercial lending department before expanding his leadership into operations, where he oversaw Deposit Operations, Treasury Support, and Remittance Processing.

Today, as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, he leads with a focus on efficiency, collaboration, and continuous improvement, ensuring INB delivers the best possible experience for both customers and employees.

Mark is married to his wife, Lara, a Springfield native, and they have two children, Maggie and Calvin. Outside of the office, Mark enjoys sports such as basketball and golf, as well as playing the piano and working on home improvement projects.

Deeply committed to his community, Mark has been involved with numerous local organizations, including Leadership Springfield, the Vachel Lindsay Foundation, Sparc, and the Girl Scouts of Central Illinois. He is also past chairman of the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce, supporting economic growth and opportunity in the region.
