Chris Thoennes is committed to the Bloomington-Normal community. He was raised here. He came back to work here after college and volunteers for local community organizations. He and his wife have chosen to raise their three children here, too. Chris says, “I have a vested interest in the success of this area, whether economic success or supporting those in our community who aren’t as fortunate as me or you. Being from here makes me passionate about what Bloomington-Normal is and what it has to offer. It’s a great place to live, raise a family, have fun, and do business in.”
Chris has been a lender for over 10 years. He says, “I’ve developed and managed relationships in small business, middle-market, and government sectors.” His goal is to help his clients enhance efficiencies, remain competitive, and grow their business. He has experience in financial analysis and credit risk management.
In addition to supporting the community through his commercial lending activities, Chris serves the community as a member of the Junior Achievement of McLean County Board of Directors, and he is a Past Board Member & Membership Chair of the McLean County Chamber of Commerce NEXT Professionals. He has been a volunteer and fundraiser for a number of not-for-profit organizations, including United Way, The Baby Fold, Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army, and the Great Plains Life Foundation.
Chris is a graduate of Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Today, he continues to pursue training and educational opportunities that enhance his skills as a banker, such as his completion of the Omega Performance Credit Curriculum and Commercial Financial Analysis through FTD Resources.
