From helping shingle roofs to cleaning up jobsites to handling paperwork, she understands the building process in a way that most other commercial construction lenders don’t.

“Walking a customer through all aspects of building or remodeling wouldn’t be possible if I hadn’t experienced it in my personal life throughout the years!” Becky says. “This is a tremendous asset I can bring to our customers, and I’m glad to have this experience to help guide my clients.”

Construction lending has been a natural progression in Becky’s career. Born and raised in Mt. Pulaski, she started a job in the furniture business after graduating from high school, where she discovered a passion for helping people. Shortly after, Becky met a branch manager at Williamsville State Bank. “She took me underneath her wing and started my career in banking,” she recalls.

Becky got her start as a teller in 1991, and since then, she’s held many positions over the years. She joined INB in 2000 as a mortgage lender, where she gained experience with the “ins and outs” of processing, underwriting, closing, managing and lending. She then transferred into the commercial department, shifting her focus on construction lending to homeowners and local builders for residential homes and remodeling.

Today, Becky serves as VP, Commercial Lending for INB, where she partners with clients who are building, remodeling or investing in rental properties, as well as with small business entrepreneurs.

“I love helping people move into their dream home, either by building or remodeling, as well as opening doors for entrepreneurs to get into residential investment homes or a small business that they want to pursue,” she says.

Becky has remained involved with the local building community for more than 20 years as member of the Springfield Area Home Builders Association, including 10 years on the Board of Directors. “Being a member of the association has also helped with my lending career by staying up-to-date on building codes and any laws that the building industry could be affected by, which might be addressed at the state or national levels,” she says.

Outside of work, Becky is grateful to have a lot of family nearby to spend time with, and is always quick to jump on board when a friend invites her to a local fundraising event, especially if it’s a community walk/run. She also enjoys spending time with her husband at their hunting property – soaking up the fresh air, taking walks in the timber, and hunting turkey and deer. “It’s my place to unplug, relax, and catch up on a good book,” she says.
