Sean Banigan joined INB as Assistant Vice President, Mortgage Lending at the Bloomington office, bringing a strong track record of mortgage and retail banking expertise.

His start in the mortgage industry was in March 2020 – just as the COVID-19 pandemic was changing the world. He embraced those challenges, and within 18 months, he advanced to mortgage loan officer.

Sean grew up in Champaign, but moved to Collinsville as a teenager, where he graduated high school. He decided to return to Champaign to work, first at Schnucks for four years before joining Busey Bank as a teller. He quickly moved into a personal banker role for six years before taking a position on the mortgage team.

Now he provides outstanding, personalized service to each of his clients at INB to ensure a smooth, informative, and successful mortgage loan experience from start to finish.

“I’m passionate about helping clients find the best possible solutions for their unique financial needs,” Sean says. “I’ve had the pleasure of forming many long-lasting relationships with associates and clients alike here in Central Illinois.”

Outside of work, Sean enjoys spending time with his wife Shireen, their dog Eva, and his friends, as well as dining at favorite local spots such as Medici, Destihl, and Jason’s Deli. When he’s not playing pickleball or enjoying the outdoors, he’s likely streaming a good show or planning the next trip (favorite travels have included Mexico, Jamaica, and destinations around the U.S.)

Community involvement is also important to Sean. He volunteers with organizations such as the Midwest Food Bank and Habitat for Humanity, and participates in bank-sponsored community events whenever possible.
