Seeing women in leadership roles at INB immediately stood out to Cami Gibertini, especially learning that CEO Sarah Phalen has led the organization successfully for more than a decade.

“I think that’s incredibly unique. I am a huge fan of women supporting women, and I have mentored many young women throughout my career. Having women take high level leadership roles in banking is inspiring, yet can be rare,” Cami says.
That commitment to elevating women is just one of many facets that drew Cami to INB.
We’re excited to announce that Cami has joined the bank as Senior Vice President, Business Solutions at INB Tampa!
“I’m so excited to serve in my new role. I look forward to supporting our Commercial Lenders with onboarding new commercial clients with our bank’s Treasury products and services that allow them to operate their businesses in the most efficient way possible,” she says.
A Lifelong Education in Banking
Cami grew up in a military family; her father was a Colonel in the United States Marine Corps., and the family settled in the Tampa Bay area when he retired from the MacDill Air Force Base in 1986.
She describes her educational path as “untraditional”: although she attended college for a couple of years, she decided to focus on her fulltime banking career.
Her career success later earned her the opportunity to attend three prestigious graduate level banking schools, each with a three-year commitment:
- The Florida School of Banking at University of Florida, through the Florida Banker’s Association
- The Retail Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, through Banker’s Institute Association
- The Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Pennsylvania with a certification of completion in the Wharton’s Leadership Program, through the American Bankers Association
“Each school was such an incredible opportunity for me to learn and grow, and helped deepen my skillset in banking and in the various roles I held throughout my career,” Cami says.
Family, Fiction and Fitness
Cami and her husband have been happily married for almost 33 years, and the couple has two grown children, Haley and Ryan. “Both live local to us in Tampa, and we love hanging out with them often,” she says.
The family enjoys frequent trips to Disney World in Orlando and spending time together at their condo on the beach. Cami also loves trading the Florida scenery for visits to Montana, which she describes as her “happy place and God’s country.”
“As they say ‘the mountains are calling, and I must go!’” she laughs.
When she has time to herself, Cami is always looking to strengthen her skills with podcasts and books on leadership topics, as well as historical fiction – recent favorites include The Alice Network by Kate Quinn, The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah, and The Henna Artist by Alka Joshi.
“I started a book club almost 15 years ago, and we read one book a month. It’s fun to read and connect with my girlfriends,” she says.
A lifelong fitness buff, Cami enjoys running in local 5Ks for charity and is an active member of her local Y, regularly attending group fitness classes.
“I got the Peloton bike during COVID and became a super fan of the entire Peloton community,” she shares. “I especially love the Bike and Barre classes.”
Committed to Community and Women’s Empowerment
Giving back to her community has always been a central part of Cami’s life and career. She currently serves as:
- Immediate Past President of the Board of Directors and Finance Committee member for the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida
- Active member of the Rotary Club of Tampa
- Board member on the Campo Family YMCA
- Advisory member of the Women’s Business Center in Tampa
- Active member of the Leadership Tampa Alumni Association
Her dedication has been recognized with numerous leadership awards over the years, including the Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce’s 2014 Chairman’s Award, Hillsborough Community College’s “Leadership in Action – Women Who Make a Difference” Award, and most recently, Tampa Bay Business & Wealth “Women Who Win” Award in 2024.
One of Cami’s greatest joys is facilitating a financial literacy program for nearly 100 young college women each year at the Women’s Conference of Florida in Tampa. This program benefits low-income, academically qualified students who have preserved and remain dedicated to their future success, despite their circumstances.
Just as she was inspired by seeing women in leadership at INB, Cami hopes to inspire and equip the next generation of women to lead in their finances, communities, and careers.
“It’s my personal passion to help young women make good, educated financial decisions now to have the best financial future possible,” she says.
