Susan Maurer,

SVP, Commercial Banker

Susan started her banking career in San Diego in 1978, moving to Texas in 1984.  After working for several banks over 15 years, she landed at Bank of America where she held several executive positions including manager of state-wide real estate and small commercial business. She served as the first female on the bank’s board. Later, she joined SouthTrust as a commercial lender in Texas, eventually joining the Orlando team.

Susan moved to Florida 2003. Once there, she worked for banks like Waterfall Bank, Axiom Bank, Ameris Bank and BBVA-Compass, always with a focus on providing excellent customer service. She’s hired and trained commercial lenders, built brand awareness, helped develop underwriting guidelines, and served hundreds of business clients as a lending officer.

These jobs eventually led her on the path to becoming SVP, Commercial Lender, at INB's Tampa branch.

Providing service to the people in her community is important to Susan.  She’s active in both business and service organizations.  She’s on the finance committee of the Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce and helps kids living in poverty through the Downtown Kiwanis. She served as Kiwanis board president in 2017-18 and was a board member from 2015-19.  She currently takes part in the University of South Florida’s Health Affinity Group.

She’s also active in IAMFREEDOM GIRL, a group that provides monthly outreach to help keep women from becoming victims of human trafficking.  She works with Selah Freedom which helps women who do become victims. Read more about Susan’s commitment to victims of human trafficking here

Susan has degrees from Grossmont College and National University in San Diego, CA.  She is currently enrolled in Southeastern University’s Master’s Program.
