John Snelson,

VP and Director of Information Security

John Snelson’s interest in computers began at just six years old, when his family brought home their first computer and he quickly learned not only how to “break” it but also how to fix it. That early curiosity grew into a lifelong passion for problem-solving and technology.

John now serves as Vice President and Director of Information Security at INB, supporting the bank’s mission to safeguard customer trust and staying at the forefront of the evolving challenges of cybersecurity.

“I always look forward to challenges, and Information Security never fails to provide a shifting landscape with new opportunities,” he says.

John holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from University of Illinois in Springfield with an emphasis in System Security and Information Assurance. His career began at the law firm Heyl Royster Voelker & Allen, where he specialized in security. He later joined Caterpillar’s Computer Security Incident Response Team, worked at Sophos in their Managed Threat Response group, and eventually returned to Caterpillar as Team Lead of their Security Operations Center.
