Each year, INB welcomes a group of bright, driven interns who bring fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and a contagious energy to our teams. This year’s group was no exception. From building AI-powered tools to launching financial literacy programs, our interns made a lasting impact.  As summer comes to an end, we’re reflecting on the incredible progress our interns made—and we’re so grateful for the ways they helped shape the INB story.

Sarah Phalen, INB President and CEO, shared her thoughts on the program:

“Our internship program is more than just a summer job—it’s a chance for students to explore their passions, contribute meaningfully, and grow both personally and professionally. We’re proud to support these future leaders and grateful for the energy and insight they brought to INB.”

Let’s meet the 2025 INB Summer interns:

Lily Randolph

College: Indiana State University
Degree: Double major in Accounting and Finance, concentration in Analysis
Expected Graduation: May 2026

Lily chose Indiana State for its perfect balance—close enough to home in Chatham, IL for weekend visits, yet far enough to foster independence. At INB, she’s contributed to the Accounting Team by preparing weekly economic summaries, refreshing year-end audit material, and crafting data visualizations for monthly reports. On campus, Lily is the President of the Investment Club and holds executive roles in Alpha Kappa Psi, Beta Gamma Sigma, and a student-led volunteer group.

Outside of work, Lily plays guitar, sweats through Zumba classes, travels whenever she can, and plays pickleball with friends and family.

Fun Fact: Her all-girls 5th grade basketball team once competed in an all-boys league—earning a spot on the Today Show and The New York Times!

Advice for future interns: Don’t be afraid to ask questions. No one expects you to know everything on day one, and your colleagues will be eager to explain their work and show you how you can add value.

Curt Roselle on the golf course with his father

Curtis Roselle

College: Northwestern University
Degree: Economics, Pre-Law Track
Expected Graduation: 2028

Curtis joined INB to gain hands-on experience in banking and finance—key areas for his future career in corporate law. He worked on developing an AI model to assist with credit writeups and loan risk management.

At school, Curtis is the treasurer of Lutheran Campus Ministries at Northwestern (LCMNU), where he combines faith and financial stewardship.

Max Pilipovic-Kljajic - not shown

College: University of Illinois Springfield
Degree: MS in Computer Science
Expected Graduation: December 2025

Originally from Australia, Max played Division 1 tennis at Eastern Illinois University before becoming a Computer Science teaching assistant at UIS.

This summer, Max worked on an AI-powered chatbot that helps employees with IT questions.  The bot can create, edit, and view submitted IT tickets.

Outside of work, Max enjoys programming, playing sports, going to the gym and living a healthy lifestyle.

Fun Fact: Max is a proud Sigma Pi alum and a passionate chess player, thanks to his dad.

Advice for future interns: Find what you love and showcase your passion in a way nobody else does.

Zach RoulandZach on the football field

College: Truman State University
Degree: Business Administration, Marketing Concentration
Graduated: May 2025

Zach’s college journey began with football and a strong connection to Truman’s coaching staff.  At INB, Zac led the development of a School Banking Program to bring financial literacy to middle schoolers, an initiative that aligns perfectly with his passion for helping others.

Outside of work, Zach is a die-hard Colts and Cardinals fan and loves spending time with friends and family.

Fun Fact: He’s a twin! His sister Ashtyn works in Washington, D.C. as a Press Secretary for a U.S. Representative.

Biggest inspiration: “My parents. Their sacrifices have shaped my work ethic and drive.”

Interns like Lily, Curtis, Max, and Zach remind us why investing in young talent is so important. Their curiosity, creativity, and commitment to excellence make them invaluable members of the INB family. We’re so proud of the impact they’ve made—and we can’t wait to see what’s next for these future changemakers, perhaps even a future career in banking!

Thank you to our INB interns for a summer full of impact, growth, and inspiration.
