Andi Whalen is grateful to have Emily Hamrin on her side. Emily, a senior teller at INB Bloomington, balances many different responsibilities in her workdays – from creating and updating logs to training new employees to filling the ATM at the branch.

“From one thing to the one millionth thing, Em doesn’t missed a beat,” Andi shares. “I’m thankful for her hard work making sure things run smoothly!”

Emily is a leader in Balance, one of our core values at INB. INB’s core values shape our culture and guide how we make decisions, collaborate and achieve strategic goals. Our other values include Teamwork, Working Smart, Assertive and Enthusiastic, Creative, and Caring.

At INB, our team members are more than coworkers – they’re family. That’s why we strive to help each other meet personal and professional goals by achieving life balance.

Supporting Professional Growth

This commitment to balance goes beyond day-to-day tasks. At INB, we encourage and celebrate professional development.

Amy Barnes recently recognized Zaide Wilson for passing the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam last winter, which is a mandatory introductory-level exam in the securities industry.

“He took a lot on – starting a new job, learning new systems and people, and completing his last MBA class at the same time. And he got right down to business, studied hard, and reached this milestone on target,” she shares. “The INB Wealth department was very proud of Zaide’s accomplishment!”

Going the Extra Mile for Each Other’s Passions

Balance also isn’t limited to work; it extends outside of the office as well, to family, personal and philanthropic goals.

INB mortgage processor Brittany Smallberger is the lead coordinator for the Springfield to Peoria St. Jude Run, which is one of many races part of the annual Memphis to Peoria Run. This past year marked her 9th year running and her 4th year coordinating the local leg of the event.

Each year, Brittany rallies fellow INB team members to join the 74-mile journey that usually begins around 3:30 a.m. Together, they raise funds and awareness for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

INB loves to contribute to causes our employees are passionate about. This past year, INB’s donation, along with contributions from many of our employees, was part of the $46,000 raised by the 22 runners and two driving team members.

“St. Jude is the best cause to support; it helps find cures and saves children,” Brittany shares about her longtime involvement.

At INB, our team cares about doing a great job – but we also know that life happens, both in and out of the office. “So, we support each other through that,” Andi shares.

“My team at INB Bloomington does a great job keeping balance in everything we do. We’re always there to help each other out, step in when someone needs a hand, and remind each other to take breaks and not overdo it,” Andi says. “We make sure to laugh, celebrate wins (big or small), and keep things in perspective. That’s what helps us stay balanced and do our best every day.”
