Ethan Biermann laughs that he’s eaten way too many horseshoes and seen more cornfields than he could ever count. Born and raised in Springfield, IL – home of the famous horseshoe sandwich – he has spent his whole life in the community, attending Lincoln Land Community College. 

Ethan’s career in banking began as a Customer Service Representative at Williamsville State Bank in 2019, where he quickly realized he loved the professional environment, the friendly interactions, and feeling of purpose that banking gave him. He later moved into the same role at Heartland Credit Union, solidifying his commitment to a long-term career in banking.

Ethan joined INB in 2023 as a Relationship Banker and HSA Specialist before making the move to his current position as Retail Sales Support and Student Banking Coordinator in 2025.

“What drew me to INB was the down-to-earth and understanding nature of the leadership, the sense of community INB fosters, and the commitment and effort the organization gives to its customers,” he shares. “What I enjoy most about my role is being able to support an amazing team of professionals daily and help grow the INB brand!”

Outside of work, Ethan enjoys spending time with his family – his parents, brother, sister and fiancé – as well as playing guitar and exploring nature. He has a passion for lifelong learning and prioritizes time to read, study Portuguese, and learn about the bible, history, and animals.
