Boris Habimana thrives on building connections with new people across the globe.

“I’m always working to make a positive impact on everyone with whom I meet or interact with!” he says.

Boris might find it easier than most to connect with people from around the world since he speaks four languages – in addition to English, he’s also fluent in French, Kinyarwanda, and Swahili! He was born in Rwanda in East Africa and grew up in the beautiful Great Lakes Region of Africa until he immigrated to the United States in 2012.

Boris is no stranger to the banking industry: his financial career began when he was hired to set up the first call center at a large bank in Rwanda. That opportunity opened doors in both banking and project management in that region.

After moving to the United States., he leveraged his extensive banking experience to pivot to retail banking, where he spent 12 years.

Now Boris is making connections with people all over the Tampa, Florida community as VP, Private Banking Manager for INB’s new Tampa branch.

Serving as the Face of INB Branch Banking in Tampa

“I was drawn to INB because of the company mission, culture and the incredible team with whom I am privileged to work alongside,” he says.

Boris is especially excited about the grand opening of INB’s newest physical branch in Tampa. INB has planted roots in the vibrant heart of South Tampa, at 2222 W. Swann Ave., where Boris is welcoming in Bay-area INB customers.

“I’m thrilled about the new branch opening and ready to let our Tampa Bay community and beyond know that we are here to provide a personalized high-quality experience through our boutique banking model,” Boris says. “It’s a beautiful, modern space that reflects the energy of this city. I’m looking for the opportunity to work with more clients face-to-face, offering the personal service you expect from a local bank.”

Community, Sports and World Affairs Part of Everyday Life

Boris is married to his wife Holly and has a 9-year-old son. In addition to being with his family, he spends time outside of the office playing and watching sports, following past and current global geo-political trends, and traveling and exploring new places.

Boris also gives back to his local community by serving as a member of the Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce Minority Business Accelerator Council, helping to drive forward their mission of assisting Black and Hispanic businesses in the area to reposition themselves to attract capital, scale their operations and increase their sustainability in the marketplace.

At INB Tampa, he looks forward to doing what he enjoys most: cultivating connections and partnering with clients to help them lead financially successful lives.

“At INB, I am most excited to help clients achieve their financial milestones and goals,” he says.
