Earlier this year, Steven Day took to INB’s intranet to recognize two of his colleagues, Courtney Parrish and Emily Slightom, with a heartfelt shoutout:

“Thanks for the hard work, patience, and determination!” he wrote.

At INB, recognizing team members for a job well done is more than just a kind gesture; it’s a reflection of the core values that guide everything we do.

For Steven, INB AVP and Loan Servicing Manager, the core value of Teamwork was essential in completing a major project alongside Courtney and Emily.

In 2023, the remittance department was short-staffed, and only the most critical reporting tasks were being maintained.

“Emily and Courtney each took an agency and set of accounts and spent about 45 days combing through 18 months of data, identified our process gap causing our outages and brought both back into balance,” Steven shares. “Also, they now balance these accounts monthly. So, it was great teamwork to get them into balance, and now they’re working together to keep them there!”

Our core values at INB – Teamwork, Caring, Assertive and Enthusiastic, Working Smart, Creative, and Balance – aren’t just words on a wall. They shape our identity and how we serve our customers and communities every day.

Core Values in Action Across Departments

Teamwork, in particular, plays a crucial role in how we support each other and our clients. Respect, cooperation and shared responsibility help us create the best possible outcomes.

Branch manager Natalie Cain experienced this when she needed assistance with customer loans in Florida. She turned to Justin Coy’s expertise as a loan underwriter.

“He has gone above and beyond to help me,” she says. “These loans are much more complex, but he’s always happy to help and answer any questions and he’s even gotten on conference calls with me and the commercial lenders in Florida. I feel fortunate to have an underwriter so willing to help out.”

Cross-Branch Support Strengthens Client Service

Teamwork at INB doesn’t stop at the doors of a single branch – it spans across locations to meet the needs of our customers.

Katelyn Cooper, senior teller at INB Mt. Pulaski, noted that commercial lender Dawn Hockett, who is based in Fairmount, IL, is “such an asset to our team in Mt. Pulaski.”

Dawn regularly makes the trip to Mt. Pulaski to meet with clients and work with the branch team there.

“She helps our clients understand the ins and outs of their loans and what would be best for them,” Katelyn shares. “We love seeing her when she makes the journey over to us – she always has a positive attitude and is the first to answer any questions we may have. We’re thankful for her and her kindness.”
