While working as an INB teller, Taylor Wilkey says she had a moment that solidified her commitment to building a career at INB.  “There was definitely a moment early on when I just knew this was the place for me,” she says. “I remember being really struck by how supportive everyone was—people were always helping each other out. It just felt like such a positive environment, and I could see right away that there was room to grow here. That really confirmed for me that I wanted to build my career at INB."

And Taylor took a big step forward in her INB career when she was named Assistant Branch Manager of our South 6th Street Branch April 1.

Taylor has steadily climbed our retail career path since joining us in 2018. Her success is due to a mix of dedication, mentorship, and a genuine passion for banking. From her early days as a float at our North Dirksen Parkway Branch, Taylor says she embraced every opportunity to learn. Her journey has taken her through several branches, including Montvale, where she honed her skills under the guidance of strong mentors, and the busy West Wabash branch, where she expanded her capabilities with new challenges like handling foreign currency transactions.

Focus on Leadership

In 2021, Taylor found her home at the South 6th Street Branch as a banker. That transition, she says, marked a turning point in her career. Taking initiative and learning new responsibilities on her own, she began laying the groundwork for leadership. With Branch Manager Natalie Cain’s encouragement, Taylor says the idea of leadership really took hold.

Natalie adds: “What makes Taylor stand out isn’t just her technical expertise, it’s her desire to support and uplift those around her.”

Taylor elaborates: “What I find most rewarding about mentoring is witnessing the tangible growth and increasing expertise of individuals I support. Contributing to that success is truly fulfilling.”

Natalie points out that, over the years, Taylor has become a trusted resource for her colleagues. “Her ability to manage operations with confidence, even in fast-paced or high-pressure situations, is a testament to her organizational skills and problem-solving mindset. Whether she’s stepping up to train new employees or stepping in for me, Taylor leads with a calm, capable presence.”

When asked what advice she gives to new team members hoping to also find success at INB, Taylor emphasizes initiative and dedication. “Proactively pursue your goals from the outset. Ask thoughtful questions, stay engaged, and never stop learning.”

Outside of the office, Taylor enjoys the outdoors with her husband and son.
