DeRosa Honored with Riverton Student-of-the-Month Award

Rilyn DeRosa is the April honoree for Riverton High School’s Student-of-the-Month award. She’s reached superior honor roll all four years, is an Illinois State Scholar and has been inducted into the National Honor Society since her sophomore year.
During her senior year, Rilyn was a member of the basketball team, student council and cheerleading team during football season. Throughout high school, she also played volleyball and soccer, cheerleader for basketball season and was a member of key club and Teens Against Drugs and Alcohol (TADAA).
Rilyn plans to attend the University of Missouri (Mizzou) as part of its honors program. She is still in the planning stages of choosing a major – biology with interest in the medical field or a law degree.
Rilyn, the daughter of Andrea and Todd DeRosa, was chosen for the honor by faculty and staff based on attendance, academics, effort, conduct, cooperation, dependability, leadership, school involvement, and service to others.
The Student-of-the-Month Program is sponsored by INB. Monthly winners receive a $50 award. They are also in the running for the $500 Student-of-the-Year Award also sponsored by INB.
