The turn of the new year provides a natural opportunity to evaluate our lives.
What positive changes do we want to make? What do we want to happen in the coming year? How can we improve our schedules, habits, attitudes or situations?
We asked our team at INB what they are focusing on as they look ahead to 2018! Here’s what they said…
Nick Horton, AVP commercial lending at INB main branch
“I am planning on trying to work out on a more regular basis and to eat better so I can get back into shape, and be healthier overall. I have started running on the treadmill and riding a bike at the gym; I also lift weights. I try to make it to the gym Monday through Thursday and take the weekend off, so I’d like to maintain this schedule in 2018.”
Dee Anderson, branch manager for INB Mt. Pulaski and Riverton
“This year, I’m going to work on finding ways to reduce my anxieties and stresses. I’d like to continue on my healthier lifestyle journey; I’m going on my third year walking at least 8 miles a week. Lastly, I’d like to be the best Mom, Girlfriend, Friend, Employee, Boss, Mentor and soon-to-be Grandmother (Mimi) that I can possibly be by setting good examples and being there when I am needed. Basically, I want to try to be a better person and improve myself each and every day.”
Ashley Pond, universal banker at INB Pleasant Plains
“In 2017, I took on the role of being a co-event lead for Relay for Life of Tri-County, which is a fundraising event to benefit the American Cancer Society. In 2018, I want to inspire more people to get involved with the event and to be able to exceed our fundraising goal for the year. In the past, it has been a struggle to motivate volunteers to stay involved with our event with so many other charitable organizations competing for donor dollars. I want to change that and remind people why this organization is so important!”
Kari Saling, loan documentation specialist for commercial lending at INB main branch
“For 2018, I’m focusing on cutting back on eating out at restaurants and fast food places! I’d like to lose 20 pounds this year.”
Justin Gensler, VP mortgage lending for INB Champaign
“I envision 2018 as a year that INB continues to impact the Champaign market not only on the mortgage and commercial side of banking but also on the retail side of banking. At INB, we understand that banking should be something where a relationship comes first rather than selling you a product that only benefits the bank. I love it when a client comes to me, a mortgage lender, and asks advice about retirement or their car loan. They know I don’t do those things, but I’m their banker and they value my opinion. Our goal for Champaign INB is to be more people’s banker rather than more people’s bank!”
Missy Rhymes, AVP loan portfolio management at INB main branch
“My resolution is to clean my ceiling fan!”
Cayla Keyes, branch manager at INB South 6th St.
“As cliché as it may sound, I am hoping to become healthier in 2018 with better eating habits and moving more! I’m planning on more exercising, and I just bought an Instant Pot in order to make healthier home-cooked meals quickly since we are such a busy family! I am also devising a plan to be debt-free, and I feel grateful to have financial experts at INB able who willing to assist in achieving any kind of financial goal!”
Happy New Year to all, and to all: success in whatever aspirations you have in 2018!
