At INB, you can do your digital banking and protect your debit card from misuse from the same place. The INB App and our online banking portal include tools you can use to set up travel notifications, report a lost or stolen card, and turn your card off and on both on a moment’s notice and at prescheduled times.

Tie Your Debit Card to a Digital Account

Before you can take advantage of our many debit card features, first you need to tie your card or cards to your online account. Follow these directions or watch this video.

  1. Select “Manage Cards” in your digital account.
  2. Click on “Submit a Form.”
  3. Choose “Add Debit Card to Profile” form from list.
  4. Next, type in the last 6 digits of the card and name on the card.
  5. Click “Submit.”

If you need to add another debit card, for example, your spouse, follow these steps:

  1. Click on “Submit a Form.”
  2. Choose “Add Debit Card to Profile” form from list.
  3. Next, type in the last 6 digits of the card and name on the card.
  4. Click “Submit.”

You Can Change Your PIN Anytime

If your debit card is tied to your account, you’ll see the last four digits of your card number inside of digital banking. Tap the number.

  1. Once you tap on your account number, you’ll then see a number of options including “Security>Change PIN.” Tap this section.
  2. Next, type in your new 4‐digit PIN. Confirm the change by typing the same number in the “Re‐Enter” box. Finally, hit “Change PIN.”

What Next?

  1. As an added level of security, you’ll be asked to enter a code to verify the change. You choose how to get the code: via text or email.

Almost immediately, you should see the code come through on your phone as a text message or via email. Copy that number from your message, and paste it into the “passcode” box on your screen.

That's it. You should now start using your new PIN.

Get Alerts When Your Card is Used

To assure you’re the only one using your debit card, get a text or email alert every time your card is used. You can also get an alert if your card is declined. Then if it’s NOT you using the card, let us know so we can stop additional transactions right away.

  1. Select “Manage Cards” in your digital account.
  2. Then, click the “>” sign next to your card number.
  3. Next, choose “>” sign “Manage Alerts.”
  4. Click the “>” sign next to “Alert Type” and choose which type of alerts you would like.
  5. Choose “Save” when prompted.

From within digital banking, you can set up alerts to notify you when someone is trying to access your account.

  • Available balance alert – We highly recommend you receive regular alerts on your account balances. Then if you see unexpected balance changes, you can immediately check into it. Choose “Manage Alerts” from the main menu. Then choose a “Custom” alert.  You then can customize the alert however you’d like, but we suggest creating an alert to receive your account balances daily at any specific time.  You can choose either email or text notifications. But the important thing is to see the alert and be able to take action quickly, so if you don’t check your email regularly, a text message might be a better option.
  • Login error alert – This sends a real-time alert when someone fails to log into your account. If you get an alert from a failed login, call us at 877-771-2316 or complete the form on our website.
  • Password changed alert – Get a real time alert when your password gets changed. Again, if this wasn’t you, contact us.
  • Login alert – If someone logs into your digital account, you’ll be notified.

Turn Your Debit Card Off and On; Schedule Downtime

You can turn your debit card on and off in your digital account.

  1. Select “Manage Cards” in your digital account.
  2. The card tied to your online account should show as “On.”
  3. To turn your card off, tap “On.”
  4. Tap on red “Turn Off” button. Your debit card is now turned off.
  5. To turn the card back on, follow the same steps as turning it off, only choosing “Turn On.”

For a temporary or regularly scheduled disabling of your debit card, go to "Manage Cards" inside of digital banking.

  1. You'll see your card and a big, red "Turn Card Off" notice. Choose the carrot to the right of the screen.
  2. You'll see the "Turn Card Off" notice again.  Don't click it! Just scroll to the bottom of the screen and look for the word "scheduling."
  3. Turn on the "Enable Automatic On/Off."
  4. You'll then be prompted to set up a schedule. For example, if you never use your card after 10 p.m or before 7 a.m., you can schedule your card to turn off from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. each day.

You Can Manage Your Card Limit

Most INB debit cards have a daily limit of $3,000. We set limits to protect you in the event your card is compromised.

But maybe you’d like to use your card to pay for a big auto repair or to upgrade your appliances. You can! You simply increase your limit for a short period of time using your INB digital account. Here’s how:

How to do it:

  1. To increase your limit, sign into your digital bank. Select “Manage Cards” from the main menu.
  2. In “My Cards,” choose the card you’d like to increase the limit on. Then choose “Request Temporary Spending Limit Increase.”
  3. You’ll then see a message asking you to confirm this option. Hit “Confirm” at the bottom of your screen.

What Next?

You’ll then have 30 minutes to spend at the new, temporary level. The level will be the lesser of $10,000 or your current balance. After 30 minutes, your spending limit will revert back to the lower level.

Travel Notifications

You may phone us before you head out for a vacation or business trip. It’s a good way to make sure we don’t identify your account as having suspicious activity just because you’re shopping at a grocery store in Florida instead of Illinois. Now, you can save the phone call and make the change yourself. Take these steps:

  1. Choose “Manage Cards” from the digital banking menu.
  2. Select your card by clicking on the “>” symbol.
  3. Choose “Travel Notification.”
  4. Follow the prompts on the screen. Be sure to hit “Submit Travel Notification.”

Report a Lost or Stolen Card

As soon as you realize you can’t find your debit card, you can get the peace of mind that comes with deactivating your card.

  1. Choose “Manage Cards” from the digital banking menu.
  2. Select your card by clicking on the “>” symbol.
  3. Choose "Report Lost or Stolen Card."

As soon as you hit “Report Lost or Stolen Card,” your card will be deactivated. If you find the card, call 877-771-2316 and we will reactivate it for you. If you don’t report the card found, we will contact you by phone, and, if necessary, by email, to verify transaction activity and order you a new card.
