Joseph Cecil,
VP, Private Client/Trust Services
NMLS # 962551
Joe Cecil grew up in Chillicothe, where he attended Illinois Valley Central High School before earning a bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University.
Right out of college, a friend recruited Joe into the banking world, and he quickly discovered a talent for making personal finance clear, approachable, and actionable for clients. Nearly 20 years later, that same passion drives his work.
Over the years, Joe has held leadership roles with respected institutions including JPMorgan Chase, PNC, and Busey Wealth Management. Along the way, he earned multiple licenses and designations, as well as awards for performance and leadership.
Those experiences paved the way for his current role at INB as VP, Private Client/Trust Services. When longtime colleague Zach Ponder (VP, Commercial Lending at INB) reached out about the bank’s plans for growth in Joe’s areas of expertise, he knew it was the right time to bring his skills and experience to a team where culture and strategy aligned perfectly.
In his role, Joe provides INB clients with banking strategies, advice, solutions, and high-touch experience customized to meet their financial needs. “Leveraging all of the resources that INB has to offer, I strive to be my clients’ personal CFO when looking for guidance in making financial decisions and plans for the future,” he says. This role is designed to give clients a dedicated resource for all their financial decision-making. Joe will collaborate with branch managers, commercial lenders, treasury, and wealth advisors to provide clients with seamless access to the full range of resources available at INB.
Joe lives in Washington, Illinois, with his wife Theresa, and they’re raising three energetic sons – Vincent, Benjamin, and Theodore – and a goldendoodle named Louie. Joe’s free time is usually filled with coaching or cheering on his kids at youth sports, collecting sports cards with them, getting in a round of golf, or a good game of poker. A lifelong Chicago sports fan, he avidly follows the Bears, Bulls, and Cubs.
A proud supporter of Bradley University Athletics, Joe serves on the Bradley Braves Club Board of Directors and also gives back to his community as Vice Chair for the Better Business Bureau of Central Illinois Board of Directors.
