Sangamon Country real estate tax payments will be accepted all this week at our eight Sangamon County branches.  Payments can be dropped off at INB drive thru locations through June 5 and again Sept. 1 to Sept. 4.  Payments can be made with cash or check and with the appropriate tax payment coupon during normal drive thru hours.  A complete list of drive thru hours can be found here.

Taxpayers without a payment coupon or requiring assistance should make payments at the Sangamon Country Treasurer’s office at 200 S. Ninth St., Room 102.  Taxpayers with questions can call 217-753-6800 or visit the treasurer’s website at Tax.Co.Sangamon.IL.US.

INB functions as the lockbox service provider for mailed tax payments.  The drive thru payments to the lockbox processing was a natural outgrowth of the service, according to Treasurer Tom Cavanagh in a news release earlier this year.  “When the Treasurer’s office lost its location for a drive thru facility, we knew that INB, with its eight locations throughout Sangamon County including Chatham, Riverton and Pleasant Plains, would provide an additional level of service to Sangamon Country taxpayers,” continued Cavanagh.
