Springfield, Illinois – March 10, 2015:
Illinois National Bank will host three on-site document shred events in partnership with Affordable Shred. While these events are free, the bank encourages donations to the Central Illinois Food Bank’s Kids Café. The funds collected will be used to provide healthy snacks to kids over spring break when they will not receive school-provided meals. Snacks will include fresh fruit, macaroni and cheese, juice boxes, granola bars and will be provided by INB, Tom Lange Co., and through donations from INB employees and the community as a result of these shred events. Toothbrushes and toothpaste, along with handouts, will be provided by Central Counties Health Centers, Inc.
INB staff along with Affordable Shred will be on-site at INB branches on these three dates:
- Tuesday, March 17 from 11-1p.m. – North Branch, 2450 N. Dirksen Parkway, Springfield
- Friday, March 20 from 11-1p.m. – Wabash Branch, 3150 W. Wabash Avenue, Springfield
- Saturday, March 21 from 9-11a.m. – Pleasant Plains Branch, 106 W. Main Street
“We’re happy to be able to offer shred events to our customers and the general public. We understand and stress the importance of keeping your personal identifying information safe. By simply shredding any document, receipt, address label, or piece of paper with identifying information like account numbers, you can stop identity thieves in their tracks,” said Sarah Phalen, President and CEO of INB.
Another way to support the Healthy Snack Food Drive is to purchase and deliver food items to any INB branch on or before Friday, March 27.
ITEMS BEING DISTRIBUTED INCLUDE: peanut butter, jelly, easy mac & cheese, microwave pasta meals, granola bars, 100% fruit juice, and fruit snacks as well as individually packaged snack crackers, pretzels, 100 calorie snacks, apple sauce, fruit cups, pudding packs, fresh fruit and bread.
INB is based in Springfield and operates 12 branches in Central Illinois. A locally-owned bank, INB provides a full range of traditional banking services to individuals and businesses, including commercial and retail banking, trust and brokerage, cash management, Internet banking and remittance processing.
