Mobile Banking FAQ's

IS INB MOBILE BANKING SECURE?

INB Mobile Banking employs industry best practices with regards to security. It has been assessed against industry security criteria by a number of independent system security experts.

At a high level, INB Mobile Banking offers the following security safeguards:

  • Authentication - Mobile browser and application solution customers are authenticated for every interaction with any INB Mobile Banking component. Customers are authenticated by username and password or by utilizing security question and answer.
  • Encryption - 128-bit encryption is used for all transactions within INB Mobile Browser Banking and mobile phone and tablet apps.
  • Text Banking is not considered a secure channel, which is why you will never see your name or actual account numbers in any text messages.
  • Fraud - INB Mobile Banking incorporates mechanisms such as transaction validation and transaction reconciliation processes to help detect fraud.
  • Availability/Resilience - INB Mobile Banking is protected against malicious attacks through software and server hardening measures.

IS MY PERSONAL OR FINANCIAL INFORMATION STORED ON MY PHONE?

No. INB Mobile Banking does not save any files with personal or financial information on your mobile device. That information stays strictly within online banking. Some phones (e.g., BlackBerry, Android) have logo and branding files that are copied to the mobile device. Those files do not contain any personally identifiable information. Text Banking text information will reside on your mobile device.

WHICH ACCOUNTS CAN I ACCESS USING INB MOBILE BANKING?

You can access any account you have set up in Online Banking. You select which accounts you want to access during the Mobile Banking enrollment process. Businesses using Cash Management services through our Business Online Banking system cannot enroll in Mobile Banking.

CAN I ADD MORE THAN ONE MOBILE PHONE?

Yes. You can enroll several mobile devices for INB Mobile Banking. To add a new phone you must:

  • Log into INB Online Banking
  • Select "Options" menu
  • Scroll down to "Mobile Banking Profile"
  • Click on the "Manage Devices" button
  • Click on the "Add New Device" button

WHAT IF MY PHONE NUMBER CHANGES?

If your mobile phone number changes, simply add your new mobile phone number using the same steps noted in the "Can I Add More Than One Mobile Phone" section of this FAQ. Then remove your old phone number by following the instruction in the “What if my phone is lost or stolen?” section of this FAQ.

WHAT IF MY PHONE IS LOST OR STOLEN?

If your mobile device is lost or stolen, no one can access your account without knowing your password and, in some cases, your unique user ID. To prevent unauthorized access to your account, you can deactivate your phone by:

  • Logging into INB Online Banking
  • Select "Options" menu
  • Scroll down to "Mobile Banking Profile"
  • Click on the "Manage Devices" button
  • Select the device with your corresponding cell phone number
  • Select "Stop using this device for Mobile Banking" from the drop down menu
  • Hit the "Go" button

*INB can also assist you in deactivating your device if you call.

To stop using INB Mobile Banking on your mobile device follow the instruction in the “What if my phone is lost or stolen?” section of this FAQ.

WHICH PHONES CAN I USE FOR INB MOBILE BANKING?

Hundreds of models are supported including these major brands: iPhone, BlackBerry, HTC, LG, Motorola, Nokia, Pantech, Samsung, Sanyo, and Sony Ericsson.
