Anthony Johnson is originally from St. Louis, graduating from Clayton High School. He was recruited by the University of Utah to play lacrosse and finished his American history degree from the University of Missouri - St. Louis.
Banking runs in Anthony’s family – his father has spent his whole career in banking as well – so Anthony always knew he wanted to pursue his own career path in the same industry.
Before coming to INB, Anthony worked for eight years at another bank, underwriting tax credit loans and commercial loans. It was there that he became well-versed in the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, also known as LIHTC.
Anthony brings this unique knowledge to INB, where he serves as VP, commercial lending and LIHTC division manager. “It’s housing with dignity, and there’s a big need for that right now; we’ve seen demand steadily increasing over the years,” he notes. “I love seeing families move into their first homes.”
Anthony has three brothers and an English bulldog named Rupert. When he’s not on the clock, he enjoys camping, fishing, shooting, float trips and other outdoor activities. He is also a sports fan, especially hockey and baseball.
Additionally, Anthony gives his time as the treasurer of the Young Professionals Board of the Gene Slay’s Boys and Girls Club of St. Louis. The group raises funds and volunteers at the club, engaging with the kids and making sure they have food to eat and a safe place to do homework and hang out after school.
