Luke Wielgopolan loves helping people achieve their goal of homeownership. He first discovered this passion through real estate, but eventually became more interested in the financial side of homebuying.

This led him to a career in mortgage lending, and now we’re happy to announce that Luke has joined INB as Assistant Vice President, mortgage lending, for INB Bloomington.

Luke grew up in Ottawa, Ill. and earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Illinois State University, where he also competed in track and field.

He began working in the healthcare industry, serving individuals and groups with behavioral changes. He also spent some time in project/program management. In 2021, Luke decided to become a licensed realtor. His NMLS# is 2545773.

“But eventually, I wanted to be on the other side of the table, while still helping clients achieve their dreams of homeownership, whether for themselves or for investments,” Luke says.

Products, Technology, Leadership Sell Luke on INB

INB’s “great reputation throughout central Illinois” enticed Luke to pursue the opportunity to join the Bloomington team, where he’ll be working alongside mortgage lender Grace Nichols.

“The diverse group of products available to customers, the technology, and most importantly, the people are what drew me here. The leadership I’ve seen in my short time so far has been exemplary and customer focused,” Luke notes.

Luke also serves the Bloomington area through community-focused organizations. He’s a committee member of the Young Professionals Network for the Mid-Illinois Realtors Association and is also involved with Becoming BN and the Bloomington-Normal Young Professionals group, which is part of the McLean County Chamber of Commerce. Within the Young Professionals group, he started a book club for professional growth.

He admits he “just got back into reading a year or so ago,” but is enjoying both development-focused nonfiction and fiction, with a new favorite being Dark Matter by Blake Crouch.

Bloomington-Normal Community Important

In addition to reading, Luke also enjoys golfing, weightlifting, attending concerts, and watching sports – especially the Cubs. He spends time with his girlfriend Dani and her son Jack, along with their two dogs Baloo and Honey, and likes checking out local restaurants and coffee shops.

In his new role, Luke looks forward to using his knowledge of the Bloomington-Normal community to serve homeowners at every stage of the journey – from first-time homebuyers to those wanting to downsize to rental property investors. Answering questions and making sure his clients understand every part of the process is integral to his service.

“I believe that my background as a realtor and being part of that world is extremely beneficial for me and my clients as I help guide them through the process and can explain what’s happening,” he says.

Welcome Luke!
