It wasn’t a typical interview.

INB conducted the hiring process with our newest commercial lender Max Mitts via remote conferencing – but despite the global coronavirus pandemic that required his virtual interview, we are thrilled to have Max on board!

“I am hopeful my role will be to enhance the bank’s position as a community bank that is willing to work through a major financial/health crisis without fear, and to immediately be additive to the continuing success for INB,” he says.

Max isn’t a stranger to working with this team of commercial lenders during a period of uncertainty. He worked alongside Sean McKenna (SVP, INB Missouri Market President) during the 2007 financial crisis. He has also been teammates with INB commercial lenders Zach Lammers and Joe Fendi while at another bank from 2010-2014.

Max has an extensive background in working with the Small Business Administration, commercial credit, treasury management and C&I banking. His passion is helping small businesses thrive.

“Small to medium-sized business owners are my absolute most favorite people to communicate with and learn from,” he says. “The entrepreneurial spirit that drives our United States motivates me to provide excellent customer service and solutions to the most important group of people on this earth.”

Max was born and raised in the St. Charles/St. Louis regions and attended CBC High School. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Southeast Missouri State University and was a starting pitcher on their baseball team. He received his master’s degree from Lindenwood University in 2000.

“While in school, I learned to be grounded in ethics and discipline as a JROTC Company Captain, Drill Team expert and sharpshooter,” he shares.

The same year he got his master’s degree, he also married his wife Michelle. The couple has a son, Joseph (age 16) and daughter, Leanna (age 14). The family loves living in the community of St. Charles.

Max also finds any opportunity he can to get outside, whether that’s playing or watching baseball, golfing, hunting or spending time in nature. He has an impressive resume of athletic feats: he has bowled a 300, scored a hole in one and pitched a perfect game.

Community service is important to Max, and he serves in various ways for organizations like Habitat for Humanity, O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce, Greater St. Charles Chamber of Commerce, United Way Diversity Group and The Knights of Columbus.

Please join us in welcoming Max Mitts, NMLS #1161411, to INB!
