Denise Lindsay’s career in the mortgage industry has run a circuitous route all over the United States.
Although originally from Greendale, Wis., Denise moved to Arizona to attend college. It was there that she was introduced to mortgage loans by her roommate, who was a loan officer.
In 1993, Denise became a loan processor for a few years, then a loan officer. She moved back to Wisconsin in 2005 to take care of her mother, and she continued to work in mortgage there.
“At that time, I met my husband at a church function, and we got married in 2006. After my mom passed away, we moved back to the West – Reno, Nev. – and stayed for about five years,” Denise shares. “There I started a partnership with a realtor and became the vice president of the third largest mortgage/real estate office in Reno.”
Denise’s husband’s job brought the pair back to the Midwest, and Denise opened her own mortgage branch in Sullivan and then worked for several banks in Decatur and Champaign.
In January 2020, Denise joined the INB Champaign as a mortgage loan officer. She says she’s excited to be part of a dynamic team where she can apply her mortgage experience in originating loans and serving clients.
Denise’s office is housed in the Keller Williams Realty office in Champaign, where she was already working. INB asked Denise to keep her office in the Keller Williams building, as she had with her previous company. She says a handful of the realtors she worked with over the years told her INB provides exceptional service. With that knowledge, she joined the INB team.
Community Work Part of Life
In addition to her career, Denise stays busy. She is involved in Synergy, Business Network International (BNI) and Master Network, and she served as chairperson last year for a major fundraising event benefitting the Chez Veterans Center.
Denise is married to Kyle Arndt and has a stepson who is pursuing his Ph.D. at Virginia Tech. The family loves outdoor activities like camping; they often travel around the U.S. to ride side-by-sides, quads or dirt bikes.
One of her biggest passions, though, is canine rescue.
“We currently have four dogs and a cat; our newest addition is Abby, a basset hound whose person was put in a nursing home while visiting Arizona and was left here with no one to help her. So while on Christmas vacation, we got a call to see if we could help,” Denise shares.
In her role as mortgage loan officer, Denise loves working one-on-one with clients to help them achieve the dream of homeownership, and she looks forward to making that dream happen for INB’s customers.
