INB Shred Events

Shred Events to Benefit Community and Kids Café

If you’re like me, you dread the shred. The time of the month where you pay the bills and then have to sit down and shred all the unwanted paper.shred events - blog

And then there’s the yearly shred when we really clean up. That’s usually around tax time . . . and we’re right at that time of year. I find all the paperwork from past tax seasons and finally give it the heave ho.
Paper with Social Security numbers, payroll information, even just home addresses and phone numbers. Unfortunately, none of that information is safe in the trash anymore. You need to shred it.

Well, all that shredding can take hours and hours on a home shredder . . . or at least it seems that way. Even with a relatively new shredder at our house, the bin gets full in no time at all. No wonder I have bank customers calling to ask, “When are you going to hold your next shred event?” Well now I have an answer! We’re going to hold three shred events in the upcoming days using the fabulous technology provided by Affordable Shred.

Illinois National Bank will host three on-site document shred events.

While the events are free, we encourage donations to the Central Illinois Food Bank’s Kids Café.  The funds we collect will specifically be used to provide healthy snacks to kids over spring break when they will not receive school-provided meals.  Snacks will include fresh fruit, macaroni and cheese, juice boxes, granola bars — up to 60 different items – and will be provided for by INB, Tom Lange Company, Inc.,  and through donations from INB employees and the community as a result of these shred events. Tooth brushes and toothpaste, along with handouts will be provided by Central Counties Health Centers, Inc.

Please plan to stop by one of our events.  We’ll take up to five bags or boxes of paper.
