Amanda Donley Promoted to Officer
/ VP, Retail Operations/Process Improvement Manager
Many of our customers only know us through our branches. So when we make branch staffing changes, we’re very thoughtful about our decisions. With that in mind, we’re proud to announce that Amanda Donley was recently promoted to Branch Operations Officer at our Chatham branch.
In 2007, Amanda’s cousin and INB employee Valerie Woodrum suggested she apply for a job. She began working at INB that year as a teller and has taken on new responsibilities ever since. She played a key role in helping the bank implement the concept of “universal banker,” a position that allows one staff person to help a customer with everything from teller line transactions to opening new accounts. In the past, a “teller” would have to refer a customer to a “banker” for those things to happen, Amanda says, “Customers feel more confident with us when one person is able to do it all for them.”
Amanda will continue to work with customers in her new position. “I enjoy talking to our customers and learning about them,” she says. “I want to do what’s best for them so they can get the most out of our products and services. I love being able to call our customers by name so they can feel like family when they come in. It helps to ease their fears or apprehensions about discussing their finances with me.”
Working recently with a customer who was new to Chatham, Amanda was able to put both her customer relations and universal banker backgrounds to work. “After a lengthy conversation of what this customer was looking for, she decided she loved what we offered here. She ended up opening several accounts for herself and her children. I was also able to put her in touch with a mortgage officer. I was very happy that I could help her because relocating your family is very stressful.”
Next time you stop by the Chatham Branch, please congratulate Amanda on her most recent career accomplishment.
