Training to be a dancer takes hard work, practice and dedication. Jillian is focused on stage and in the classroom. That’s why Pleasant Plains High School faculty and staff chose Jillian as their December Senior-of-the-Month.
For Jillian Hergenrother, dance has been her activity of choice. When Jillian was only 3 years old, she started taking dance lessons. Back then, dance lessons were only one time per week. Now in her 14th year, she practices multiple times per week with her dance company. Jillian is a member of the Springfield Ballet Company. She has danced with this particular group for four years. She has performed in numerous productions that have included solo, duet and trio performances.
Jillian has been a member of the Pleasant Plains High School poms team for four years. She proudly serves as co-captain this season. In addition to poms, she’s very active with the Beta club, Spanish club, Science club and serves as a Cardinal Ambassador. Jillian has been awarded Excellence in English 132, Psychology, Outstanding Spanish III student and 3rd place in the New Berlin art fair.
Jillian, daughter of Liane and Mark Hergenrother of Pleasant Plains, was chosen as the December Senior-of-the-Month by faculty and staff based on the criteria of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
Jillian plans to attend a four-year university next fall.
The Senior-of-the-Month Program is sponsored by Illinois National Bank. Monthly winners receive a $50 award. They are also in the running for the $500 Senior-of-the-Year Award also sponsored by INB.
